Chinese Qi Gong / Energy Work
Qi Gong is the Chinese system of yoga and energy work. It’s literal translation is “energy work”. It is oftentimes done in a standing position with specific exercises that time eyes, mind, body, and breath. It is designed to enhance health, longevity, and the overall vitality of the system. There are several forms or styles of Qi Gong taught throughout the Orient. At Yoga Works, this class will include many of the health or medical traditions as well as an alchemical system taught to enhance meditation and consciousness. Qi Gong helps cultivate and develop an individual’s person power by optimizing flow of vital energy (or Qi- pronounced “Chee”) throughout the body. This helps remove harmful blockages that lead to disease and unhappiness as well as helping to liberate energy reserves.
